First-year Petroleum Engineering student at Colorado School of Mines, aiming for a career in the field.

I was born and raised in Oman, in a family where petroleum engineering was the family trade — my father is a petroleum engineer, and the summer after I finished school I went with him to rig sites at FOS to watch drilling operations up close. That summer settled the question of what I would study.

I finished high school in 2025 as valedictorian, with a 3.9 cumulative GPA and a 4.0 in my final year, and was awarded a full government scholarship — one of 600 given to 50,000 students nationally. Before coming to Colorado I spent the year in the University of Pennsylvania's pre-college English program, working on academic writing, research methodology and debate.

Now I'm at the Colorado School of Mines, class of 2030, and a member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers student chapter. I speak Arabic, Balochi and English. I'm looking for a summer 2027 internship or any field-based role that gets me near a rig — site tours and ambassador programs included.
